Greetings Country Valley Farm CSA Members,
It is another great week for Michigan produce. The rains and warm weather are very welcome. Some crops seem to be loving it and thriving and some seem to be a bit more challenged. That is how nature goes. We focus on diversity and take the gains with the losses as a normal part of it. Overall, there is more good than otherwise – thankfully.
Looking ahead – The daikon crop is amazing, and we are glad to include it in the shares this week. The turnips are fattening up quicker than the watermelon radishes it seems. The beans are happy and continue to set new blossoms and keep growing new beans. The vivid choi is really finding its stride and will be in the shares next week.
This week’s shares include the following (Cooking Tips posted separately):
· Daikon Radish (1 big one) from our farm
· Green Beans (1 quart) from our farm
· Dragon’s Tongue Beans (1quart) from our farm
· Garlic, CVF Hardneck variety (3 medium bulbs) from our farm
· Red Fresno Peppers (a few) from Cinzori Farm
· Red, Yellow and Orange Bulls Horn Sweet Peppers (1 quart) from Cinzori Farm
· Celery (1 bunch) from Cinzori Farm
· Sunflower Sprouts (1 pkg) from Gardenworks Farm
· Medium shares will receive a pint of shishito peppers, an extra celery bunch, an extra daikon, a pint of red sweet petite onions, and extra 3 bulbs of garlic
Thank you for your ongoing support and for sharing the joy of the community supported agriculture membership – it makes a big difference in our world and is deeply acknowledged.
Warm Regards,
Adam and the Country Valley Farm Team
