Hi Everyone,
CSA share pickups are from 2:30-5:30 Saturdays at Genesis of Ann Arbor (Temple Beth Emeth/St. Clare’s Episcopal Church 2309 Packard St. Ann Arbor. 30 week shares continue, 26 week shares begin tomorrow. The 20 week shares begin in 2 weeks on May 29th.
This week’s small box shares contain the following items – cooking tips attached separately:
· Green Garlic (1 bunch) – from our farm
· Fresh Thyme (1 bag) – from our farm
· Broccoli Sprouts (1 pkg) – from Gardenworks of Ann Arbor
· Spinach (1 bag) – from Cinzori Farms of Ceresco
· Curly Green Kale Greens (1 bunch) – from Cinzori Farms of Ceresco
· Asparagus (1 bunch) – from Cinzori Farms of Ceresco
· Fuji Apples (4 apples) – from Plymouth Orchards of Plymouth; these are the last of the apples until late Summer when the new crop comes in
Medium boxes contain an extra bunch of green garlic, extra bunch of asparagus, and extra fuji apples.
Looking ahead, we will begin harvesting red scallions next week. We planted the potatoes, Greek oregano, dill, and lemon balm this week. It seems like we may be past the hard freezes and will start to see more items to include in the shares in the coming weeks. It is good to remember that we are still in mid-May. Of course, we are longing for other veggies and variety. We are thankful to be able to eat seasonally and are enjoying making the most of what the land is producing at this time of year – we hope you are as well.
