Hi Everyone,
This week’s tips include a few standard preparation tips.
We recommend washing all produce just before use, always.
• Sage – great as a tea, also excellent with used with heavy or rich foods. A sage cream
sauce (dairy or non-dairy) is excellent and easy to make.
• Garlic – it is garlic roasting season! Easy to do goes great in most dishes or on it’s own
with some fresh bread.
• Kholrabi – aka cabbage turnip. Great when peeled and shredded into a slaw or cut into
chunks and served with your favorite dip. Also nice in soup.
• Green Onions – grilled whole for a seasonal delight, also great when chopped and
cooked into a cream sauce with the sage…
• Japanese Eggplant – quick cooking, excellent grilled or broiled, use in your favorite
eggplant dish
• Green Beans – garlic green beans are a sure win every time.
• Cucumbers – as crisp and fresh as can be.
• Cousa squash – this is a tender summer squash variety, aka grey zucchini, it can be used
any way other summer squash would and has a notably thinner skin than other summer
squashes and can be cooked more delicately to retain the slightly sweet flavor.
